Vision Statement
Black Dog Drummers

Our primary purpose is to worship the Creator

and His Son Jesus Christ, to do His will and to
spread the good news of His saving grace
through His shed blood for sin.

We believe that God created all cultures of the
Earth for His pleasure and He wants to be
worshipped in those cultural expressions.

We believe that because of man’s sin nature the
enemy has perverted and corrupted those
cultures to serve other gods but God is
redeeming them in these last days for His glory.

We believe that for hundreds of years, the
"white" church has seen the Native American
culture as evil and has convinced them that
the only way they can be saved is through
the "white man’s" version of Christianity.

We believe the Native American church is
finding out that they can be who the Creator
made them to be and not be ashamed of their
heritage or fearful that they have to abandon
their culture to please Him.

We believe that God is in the process of
healing the anger, unforgiveness and shame
that the Native people carry in their hearts
and is freeing them to again be proud of
their heritage.

We believe the Native Church is learning to have it’s identity in Jesus first, and then in
it’s cultural heritage second.

We believe that God wants His church to no longer see the Native American as just a
"mission field" and start seeing them also as ministers of the gospel to the world.

We believe the Native Americans are having to examine their own traditional and cultural
practices as to whether they fit into Biblical Christian model and to allow the Creator to
purge them just as He is doing with the white church.

We believe the Church needs to get on it’s face and repent to God and the Native Church for
condemning their use of traditional instruments and dance to worship Jesus.

We believe that worshipping God with he drum and native style singing is in part to say that we
value their cultural expressions and return to them the right to worship God the way He created
them to.

We believe that the Native drum, as well as other traditional musical instruments, is being
redeemed by God from the enemy to be used for spiritual warfare and as a worship tool to glorify
His name.

We are honored to come along side the Native American Christians who are committed to
bringing the Kingdom of God to their people through their own culture.
