Mr. Jon Lansa is a full-blooded member of the Hopi Tribe from the
village of Shungopavi, located at Second Mesa, Arizona. Jon is a
member of the Sun-Fore Head, the Snake and Eagle Clans. Jon is
married to Tawana, his lovely wife of 28 years, three children:
Jonathan, 25, David 22 and Tessa 17.
In September of 1999 Mr. Jon Lansa was called and directed to the
national organization called the Navigators in the new established
department of the North American Indian Discipleship Ministries. Mr.
Lansa was on staff with Promise Keepers as a Strategic Manager/ Director
for 4 years.
With The Navigators and with Promise Keepers, Mr. Lansa directed and
ministered with many Native American leaders of non-profit organizations,
groups, missions and churches on a National US level. His networking
administration work and skills consisted of overseeing the development of
vital relationships, strategies and outreach opportunities to serve these
Native American ministries and to implementing a myriad of reconciliation
training programs, leadership seminars and workshops.
On October 4, 1997, Mr. Lansa was present as one of the many platform
speakers at the historical spiritual event called "Stand In The
Gap" event held in Washington, DC. Mr. Lansa coordinated and
provided the vital presence of Native America at this US monumental
historical event. Mr. Lansa is presently the co-facilitator with the
First Nations Forum, initiated by the National US movement of Mission
America.
Mr. Lansa ministered for 17 years with Native Ministries
in the southwestern states and within the United States these past
years. This has allowed him to have a spiritual pulse of the Native
America. As a leader-minister he has conducted many regional
training sessions for schools, churches and groups through out Native
America regarding leadership, interpersonal skills-education and also
seasonal enrichment activities. Jon has been a Project Manager for
Compassion International dealing directly with many Native Tribes and
directly with Hopi youth-family concerns-issues and ministries.
Presently he is the Vice President of Immanuel Indian
Mission, a self-supported mission-church ministry and outreach in Winslow,
Arizona. Jon is co-founder and a board member of Christ for Native
Youth, a national Christ-centered youth organization that hosted the
first-ever National Native American Youth Gathering in June 1996 in
Albuquerque, New Mexico. Mr. Lansa is one of the co-founders and
board member of the Christian Discipleship Center, a Native oriented
facility that assists men in overcoming alcohol/ chemical
dependencies. Mr. Lansa is also a board member of the historical
American Indian Crusade in Oklahoma, OK.
